Biography

Harpist Emily Duncan is an alumna of the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Yolanda Kondonassis. Duncan completed her undergraduate studies at ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app City University summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance, and graduated with her Masters of Music from CIM.

Duncan received the First-Place prize in the LMC Zachritz Harp Competition in 2020, and made her solo debut with the ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app City Sinfonia with a world premiere of Smetana’s Die Moldau transcribed for harp and orchestra. In 2022, Duncan was awarded the Alice Chalifoux Prize in Harp from the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Duncan is the Principal Harpist of the Fort Smith Symphony. In 2023, she recorded The Music of Louis W. Ballard with the Fort Smith Symphony, released on NAXOS later that year. Duncan has also performed with the ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app City Community Orchestras, the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, the Akron Symphony, the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, and the OKC Philharmonic.

Emily Duncan was appointed the Adjunct Instructor of Harp at ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app City University in 2022. She is also the Senior Administrative Assistant for the Wanda L. Bass School of Music and the School of Theatre. Emily enjoys teaching her private and university harp studios, doing yoga, and drinking coffee.
