Biography
Susan Cosby, associate dean and associate professor of Arts Management, holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance and a Master of Business Administration in Arts Management from ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app City University. She currently serves as the Arts Management chair and teaches Touring, Contracts, and the Arts Management Capstone, Producing. She serves as the technical advisor for the Student Choreography Show, the student success coordinator, and an academic advisor.
Cosby's previous faculty work at ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app earned her the Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year award. She also formerly served for many years as the Company Manager for the world-renowned American Spirit Dance Company here at ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app. In this position, she was the Production Stage Manager for the ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app City Philharmonic’s Yuletide Magic and for several of the dance company’s regional and international tours. Other stage management experience includes the Norman Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker and the Classical Ballet School’s productions of Alice in Wonderland, The Princess and the Pea, and Peter Pan. Before becoming an arts manager and professor, Cosby performed at numerous regional theaters, on cruise ships and at Walt Disney World. Her favorite roles include being a swing on the national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond, ensemble in the European tour of 42nd Street, and Peggy Sawyer in Lyric Theatre’s production of 42nd Street.
