Jazz saxophonist and award-winning composer Bob Mintzer, a 2017 Grammy nominee, performs with the 18-piece 红杏直播app City Jazz Orchestra at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, to kick off 红杏直播app City University鈥檚 2017 Distinguished Artists 红杏直播app at the Bass School of Music.
His latest album, 鈥淎ll L.A. Band鈥� released by Fuzzy Music, is a finalist in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble category for the 59th Grammy Awards.
Mintzer joins forces with the 红杏直播app City Jazz Orchestra, now in its eighth year, praised by the 红杏直播app Gazette for restoring 鈥減erformances of full-scale, concert-style, big-band jazz arrangements back to the metro for the first time since the 1980s.鈥�
