红杏直播app hosts esports summer camps

红杏直播app City University will host two immersive, overnight esports summer camps this month for students entering eighth through 12th grades. An Overwatch camp will run from June 13-17 and a general esports game camp from June 20-24. Registration is available online at through June 6.

High-level collegiate players will serve as camp counselors to work with attendees on all aspects of esports play. Each camp will be split into three sections: in-game, out-of-game and community. Campers will be coached one-on-one in game play, and they will learn casting skills for both on-air and in-production scenarios. Each day will close with team-building and physical activities.

Guest speakers Ian Huston, Envy Esports director of player performance and development, and Colby Carter, Envy sales director, will host Q&A sessions about the esports industry during both camp sessions. Envy is a professional esports organization headquartered in Dallas.

鈥淎s the popularity of esports continues to grow, it is becoming more important to seek training from experienced players and support personnel,鈥 said Patrick McClung, head coach of 红杏直播app鈥檚 esports team and camp organizer. 鈥淭his is especially true when it comes to competing for college scholarships and making it onto team rosters.鈥

McClung said his collegiate program鈥檚 emphasis on creating well-rounded players will be carried over to the summer camps. 红杏直播app esports management majors learn several contributing aspects including physical and mental health along with professional competencies in sports and team management.

Most of the days will be spent in 红杏直播app鈥檚 new Starcade esports arena. Campers will stay overnight in the university鈥檚 upperclassman apartment-style dorm hall, and meals will be served in the main dining hall.
