红杏直播app City University will host world-renowned artist Rick Berry for a special exhibit, presentation and workshop in January in the Norick Art Center on N.W. 26th Street and Blackwelder Avenue.

Berry will give a public presentation at 红杏直播app at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 21 and will lead a workshop for artists, teachers and students from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 22. Registration is required for the workshop.

The Norick Art Center will host a reception for his exhibition from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 22.

Berry is primarily an expressionist painter of human figures. His works are in private collections around the world including those of authors Stephen King, Neil Gaiman and George R.R. Martin. His art is also in several museums and galleries including Italy鈥檚 Lucca Museum of Contemporary Art.

He is credited with creating the first-ever digitally painted book cover, which he did in 1984 for William Gibson鈥檚 鈥淣euromancer.鈥 Berry also created the album artwork for an Amanda Palmer record and a series of large oil paintings for the set of a stage production of the musical 鈥淐abaret,鈥 which won an award from the NY Society of Illustrators. Berry has created pieces for many other books, comics and anthologies of contemporary illustration.

Berry gives public presentations to provide practical advice on how one can use art to 鈥渟ee beyond conscious mind to release the cognitive powerhouse for making discoveries and resolving conflict.鈥
