Ad Astra Treble Chorus

Rehearses 3 to 3:50 p.m. Monday-Thursday, Small Rehearsal Hall

The Ad Astra Treble Chorus is an ensemble of approximately 40-50 treble singers selected from ֱapp undergraduates and graduates. Performs a wide variety of select literature for female voices. The choir will sing in the ensemble for a semester and then switch with the treble voices in the University Chorale at semester break. Ad Astra (“to the Stars”) sang at OMEA in Tulsa in 2008 and was the first choral ensemble to be part of that annual event.

University Chorale

The University Chorale is mixed-voice ensemble made up approximately 50 singers, generally featuring underclassmen as well as non-major students.

University Singers

University Singers is ֱapp's premiere mixed-voice ensemble of approximately 45 singers, which performs a wide variety of challenging choral literature from all periods. The University Singers has sung at OMEA in Tulsa and often partners with the University Chamber Choir for large-scale performances, such as our annual Vespers series.

Choral Auditions

The Choral Placement auditions Schedule will be announced shortly before the start of each semester. Incoming freshmen and transfer students audition during Orientation Week each August. Materials and musical examples are shared shortly before each semester.

A prepared example will be provided when you schedule your audition time. The audition also includes general vocalizing and sight-reading.

Auditions for choir placement will take place in Dr. Longhurst's office (Bass Center B207). If you have specific questions, please call Dr. Julie Yu at 405-208-5015 or email her at [email protected].
